In 2018 this metal post at Shafton Two Gates just north of the X roads on the old A628 now by-passed was painted by a local. Now rust is showing through. The Barnsley to Pontefract tollroad lasted from 1825 to 1870 and 7 posts which may have been erected by the Trust remain. It is Grade II Listed 1151129.
