According to cinematreasures.org, the cinema was opened by Sir Charles Wilson MP on Saturday, October 20, 1928 See also Image, it closed in 1958 and the auditorium was demolished in July 1980 leaving just the entrance and the adjoining parade of shops on Harehills Lane.
