The old White Horse pub closed in 2012 and was converted into residential use. The present building is actually a second incarnation of the pub as the first was a structure immediately to the west that dated from the nineteenth century (it was demolished in the early twentieth century as the new one was built). Perhaps one reason for this was the fact that there was another pub, the Plough and Windmill, almost right next door; but that too was converted a few years ago.
