One of the community hats on the Hats Off To Denton Sculpture Trail in the window of Greencross Pharmacy on Ashton Road. This hat represents the vibrancy and joy of people coming together to achieve something wonderful for their community and is inspired by the Denton Carnival Committee who organise Denton Carnival which, with a parade, bowling competition and games, brings together people of all ages in the community each September. The design is by Venessa Scott, a prolific public artist whose vibrant and joyful pattern based murals can be seen across the UK. Venessa also designed and painted one of the UK's tallest murals. When she is not adding colour to the walls of cities you can also find Venessa presenting art content for children on CBBC.
