The Art Deco facade of No. 13 Bridge Street. The Royal Oak used to stand on this site until it was demolished in 1936, when this building was constructed for seed and corn merchants Franklin Barnes. After they moved to a new location on the corner of Commercial Road this building became the 'Crystal Rooms Nightclub'. The nightclub closed some years ago and the buildings behind the facade were demolished and redeveloped as apartments.
