This unusually-styled church stands on Holdenhurst Road, close to the city centre. After the Congregational movement decided to build a new church in 1878-9 to designs by Kemp Welch and Pinder. Additions were made about a decade later by Lawson and Donkin, giving this set of buildings that Historic England describe as Romanesque-cum-Cinquecento style. The church also became the site where schooling, food provisions and a public library were offered in the past. It later became part of the United Reformed movement.
