Grade II Listed house. Although a couple of buildings are shown here on Padley’s 1842 map this terrace of three houses first appear on the 1851 map. They were numbered 1-3 until 1873-1877. Looking in directories for No.53 (No.1) I find; 1857 Thomas Storey Belton; 1861 Thorold Rev. John, M.A.; 1872 Curtis Mrs Jane, milliner; 1894-1905 Jackson, Henry, organ builder; 1909 Dixon George; 1913-1919 Taylor, Fred, butcher; 1965 Wheldon Jn.
