This is viewed looking from the A283 Petworth Road bridge into the deep cutting towards Milford railway station. There is a Francis Frith photograph taken 100 years ago in 1908 from virtually the same location here http://www.francisfrith.com/search/england/surrey/witley/photos/witley_59574.htm#memories About the only thing to have changed, apart from the steam engine of course, is the spacing of the railway sleepers which seemed to be much further apart then than now.
