Looking west-north-west towards Fradley Junction (with the Trent and Mersey Canal). The canal between Whittington Brook and Fradley Junction was planned by the Coventry Canal Company but built by the Grand Trunk Canal company, which later became the Trent and Mersey. In 1797 the Coventry Canal Company bought it.
