Built c1964 in the grounds of South Stoneham House as a hall of residence for Southampton University. Described in Concrete Quarterly No.60 - https://www.concretecentre.com/TCC/media/TCCMediaLibrary/Concrete%20Quarterly%20Archive/1964/CQ_060_Spring1964.PDF?ext=.pdf . Last used in 2005. In 2012, scaffolding and netting was erected to catch any debris falling from the tower (see Image). In 2021, the tower still stands, but demolition is anticipated. Photo taken in February or March 1973.
