Shrubs in the Western Walled Garden. The garden is surrounded by a red brick wall some 12 to 13 feet high. The wall was built in the 18th century and extended in the 19th century. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1139508 Arley Hall and Gardens is a country estate in Cheshire, some 5 miles north of Northwich. The house was built in Jacobean style in 1845, replacing an earlier house on the same site. Parts of the house, affected by dry rot and decay of the stonework, were demolished in 1968, and replaced in 1987 by five new private residences.
