Unusually, the stile is made from concrete. From the image it appears that it's only half there, but it no longer serves a purpose anyway as it can be bypassed. There's a corresponding ladder stile, (intact), behind the camera. The path crosses an old railway incline that rises to the left to pass through a tunnel beneath the B6278 - https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6704286 . The houses in the distance are in Crawleyside.
