Swifts Close, new development, Dry Drayton (3)

The development last seen from over the fence in Image is now complete, most houses are apparently sold, & new village residents are awaited. The estate agent has this to say: 'A sustainable and modern cluster of 10 homes nestled thoughtfully in the beautiful Pettitt’s Orchard in the village of Dry Drayton. The development is the creation of local developers whose vision was to bring city styling and architecture to the countryside, proving modernist features are not only to be found in urban developments. Each property style has been thoughtfully designed to reflect the changing world and feature ground floor offices providing a convenient home working environment.' Needless to say residents of Dry Drayton weren't consulted about whether they really wanted urban-style developments in their village, however thoughtfully nestled in once-beautiful Pettitt's Orchard. Also needless to say the 'modernist features' don't extend to the heating systems, so no heat pumps or solar panels, just good old-fashioned gas boilers - how very last century!
