The border at Belleek. Northern Ireland (the UK) starts at the 40 MPH speed limit signs and as you cross from the Irish Republic (EU), the N3 becomes the A46. As is common with the border across the island, there is nothing else to mark this transition. The service station is still in the EU/Irish Republic, so you cross the border again instantly if you turn left after the sign. Back in 2006 there was a marked difference in petrol prices on either side of the border (see Image), but now they are fairly equal - petrol here was selling for £131.9 or €151.9 - as is common in border areas, both currencies are accepted. (Closer to Belfast though, petrol could be bought for £123.9p a litre).
