Schooling was evident in the area by the early nineteenth century, but this National School was founded in 1856/7 with aid from the Committee of the Parish Council. This was the state of affairs for many years until the post war era, when a new addition to the buildings was completed in 2004, named Cherry Hall. On the wall are some colourful creations - see Image] for a closer look.
