The street is lined on both sides with shops of a kind to indicate the high level of local prosperity. In the words of Marlborough Jewellers https://www.davidchristopher.co.uk/stores/marlborough-jewellers/ : 'The High Street is said to be the widest in the UK and filled with chocolate box buildings hosting a wide variety of shops for the discerning customer.' The jewellers can be seen here tucked between Waitrose https://www.waitrose.com/bf_home/bf/164.html and Hamptons estate agents https://www.hamptons.co.uk/branch/estate-agents/marlborough/ .
