The central part of the present house dates from 1867. From 1920, nuns from the Order of the Notre Dame moved into the house and considerably expanded the house during the 1920s. In 1922 the West Wing was completed, and the Church of Our Lady and St Richard was completed in 1924, and the East Wing in 1938. The nuns moved out by 1971 and now Ashdown Park is a hotel and country club. A full history can be seen at https://www.ashdownpark.com/history-ashdown-park-hotel
