- Defended Building: EDoB ID: e01236 A strongpoint built within a milking parlour, having a single concrete embrasure in the south-east elevation covering the A484 road. The village of Cynwyl Elfed was a nodal point of the Western Command's Carmarthen Stop Line which ran N from the mouth of the Afon Tywi to Carmarthen, thence to Cynwyl Elfed, Rhos, Henllan, Llangeler via Rhydlewis to Llangranog. The line formed part of the defences for anticipated operations against Milford Haven, Port Talbot and Swansea. Image
