17th century timber framed house, incorporating some framing from an earlier cruck house. The lower extension at the far end is 18th century with 20th century dormers. Listed Grade II. The name is taken from the motto of the local landowning Chadwick family 'Juxta Salopiam' http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6861719 . There was presumably some family connection although the Chadwick family occupied the old hall at Mavesyn Ridware.
