An arm of the Warwick & Birmingham Canal, built in the 1790s and now part of the Grand Union Canal. The Saltisford wharf was the original terminus of the canal. It opened in 1799 and encouraged the industrial development of Warwick. By the 1980s the Saltisford arm was abandoned, part had been built on, and the rest was threatened by development. It was rescued by volunteers, who formed the Saltisford Canal Trust, which now manages the site. https://www.saltisfordcanal.co.uk/heritage/saltisford-history/
