The Corn Mill, Annalong

A corn mill and kiln built with roughly dressed quoins (corner stones). Three pairs of stones are powered by wood and iron breast wheel. The "black" dots here and there on the wall of the mill are actually holes left, deliberately in the brickwork during refurbishment work by the builders.These holes provide nesting sites for the northern sea bird "Auk" more better known as a "Guillemot". Their small narrow wings allows them to access small crevices or holes to nest.
