Sowerby Hall, Towngate

The 'hall' is not as grand as the name suggests. It would better be described as a 17th century yeoman's house, dating from 1646. It is however grade II listed (list entry 111134459). A screen of shrubs and trees largely obscures the front facing Towngate; this is a view from King Street.
