I was interested in this boulder and pondering as to its possible origin, its survival and so on when on further inspection there seemed to be several more such large stones around and they seem to have fallen / tumbled from a cliff face, or rather an outcrop above and behind me. Presumably at some time in the past, as they are half buried, which seems to argue for their falling some time ago. I neglected to take a shot of their assumed point of origin though..
