The Spring weather turned warmer and the graveyard of St Francis has erupted all over. From their burrows in the earth, the distinctively black and grey/white bees emerge and take to the air. The Ashy or Grey Mining Bee (Andrena cineraria) females create nests in light, open soils and this graveyard has proved very popular.
