Eroded bank of the Ure

Looking upstream along and across the Ure towards a high bank which is largely made of glacial material and which appears to be eroding fast. I took another photo of the same area from the opposite bank in July 2009 which shows far more vegetation than this shot does, suggesting that it has all been swept away. Floods and surges on the Ure and other Dales rivers appear to be more regular in recent years as storms become more intense. One can only assume that this is a result of global warming.
