Detail from the iron bridge across the Fishpond, Byram Hall. Sandford & Yates became partners at the Phoenix Works foundry in 1823, in Greaseborough Road, Rotherham. In the late 18th/early 19th centuries the Phoenix Foundry was well known as a leading manufacturer of large iron forgings, using water powered tilt hammers. See Image for more on Byram Hall
