Although the unit is still operating there is a building site alongside as the unit is being expanded at a cost of £4 million to incorporate breast screening services from Bromsgrove and Herefordshire. The unit opened in 2016 after the tireless efforts of Mr Steven Thrush a consultant breast surgeon at Worcester. Breast Radiologist Dr Penny Haggett has been instrumental in garnering the funding for the extension.
