Looking north from near the Turf Cottages pond. The original Turf Cottages are off to the right. The semi-detached houses on the right are newer. To the left of that, extended and painted part white and part cream is the former Turf Tavern, which sold Burton Brewery Company ale, and which was kept by Daisy Collins. It closed in about 1916. http://www.historywebsite.co.uk/articles/PennCommon/Description.htm Houses from the centre to the left are all more modern.
