The Great Northern Railway Signal Post hasn't seen a train for 60 years or so but watches over a walker drifting in from Hertford. This stretch of the old line is about to be relayed with tarmac which has caused some local controversy. The finial on the post still stands out and it would nice if the concrete were repaired before this historic artefact crumbles away.
