This is before the bus station was moved and replaced by an extension to market hall itself. The people apparently walking along the roof of the Market Hall are in fact part of the sculptures above the main entrance on the south facade of the hall http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5915054 . It was built in 1868 and is Listed Grade II. Bus 153, in the distinctive dark blue and red livery of Accrington Corporation, is a Guy Arab IV with East Lancs bodywork new in 1959. The 'Load of Mischief' on the destination blind does not refer to the passengers, but was a pub at Clayton-le-Moors. This is one of a series of views featuring buses in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=137652761
