What a lovely spot, with even a thoughtfully sited bench. I sat here and enjoyed my lunch (a mixed crabmeat sandwich, a large dark chocolate rice cake biscuit, a very juicy orange and a small flask of hot Britta filtered water if you must know). My thoughts covered such matters as the future of rural churches, burial as opposed to cremation, the difficulties of maintaining churchyards on slopes, the dating of ancient Yews, the effect of Covid-19 closures on churches, the role of country estates, grey squirrels, the gig economy and why we waste time hating things. The peace here permeated my soul and off I went, unburdened and refreshed and on my way home.
