This was originally a coaching inn, illustrated by the stables and manure pit that used to be in the rear yard which was accessed through the now gated archway. It was built in the mid 18th century and constructed out of two separate houses. Whilst the building has undergone much internal alteration and some recent external decoration, the general appearance remains much the same as it was in Victorian times.
