This shows Parkhead Locks No 3 at Parkhead Junction (with Dudley Tunnel No 2, off to the right). The three locks in this flight allow a rise (or fall) of twenty feet (just over six metres) as the Dudley No 1 Canal continues towards Dudley Tunnel. The viaduct in the background carries a dismantled railway which used to be part of the old Great Western Railway line between Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton.
