Inside the fence on the right is the McKechnie & Co chemical works. In the yard can be seen their shunting locomotive of the time. This was a Sentinel chain drive vertical boiler locomotive, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentinel_Waggon_Works#Railway_vehicles no.9381 of 1947, named 'Enterprise'. Shunting in the foreground is one of British Railways' type 05 diesel shunters built by the Hunslet Engine Co, with a rake of mainly traditional timber-sided wagons.
