This curious looking tomb is unlike anything else around it in St Mark's churchyard. There is an inscription on the other side of the headstone but it is barely legible. However, it appears to tell us that this is the grave of Edith Underwood, aged 14, whose father was in the Madras civil service. She possibly died in 1852 although it is hard to tell. Why her grave is here in Warwickshire is unknown but the wording says it is in memory 'of a beloved niece'.
