Looking south-south-east from near Spring Hill Bridge as the canal meanders towards Rotton Park Junction (with Telford's "new" main line, dating from 1824-1827). The Soho Loop is a remnant of the original contour hugging Birmingham Canal Navigations Main Line from Wolverhampton, engineered by Brindley, 1768-1772. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soho_Loop
