Looking east across the island formed by the old and new main lines of the Birmingham Canal Navigations. Belliss and Morcom, which occupied the site, was one of the great industrial giants in Birmingham, and made steam engines and turbines that were shipped all over the world. The factory was demolished in 2005. Current aerial images (2021) show that the remaining buildings (Pinchin Johnson Paints factory) shown by Rotton Park Street have since also been demolished, and redevelopment awaits.
