The cottages are alongside the No. 1 Lock of the Wolverhampton flight, the 'top lock', just north-east of the city centre; the lock itself is in the foreground. The cottages are numbered 110 to the left, and 111. No. 110 is a lock-keepers house, a sign above the green gate tells so.
