The Old School in Brookside is a former primary school and schoolhouse which closed in 1957 when a new school was opened in the village. Built in 1849, in the Gothick style in knapped flint with gault brick dressings. The group of three circular chimneys with patterning in carved gault brick is attractive. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1374803 Moulton is a small village some 3 miles east of Newmarket and was settled in Saxon times. The River Kennett flows through the village and a 15th-century packhorse bridge spans the river.
