Group of buildings on Holywell Hill. Holywell House, on the left, was built in the 1780s for Sir William Domville, later Lord Mayor of London (1813-4). The architect was Sir Robert Taylor. Grade II* listed - see www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1103099. A previous house of the same name once stood lower down Holywell Hill and was home to Sarah Churchill, the Duchess of Marlborough, but was demolished in 1837 to allow the straightening of the road. Nos 36 and 38, on the right, similarly date from the late 18th Century. Grade II listed - see www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1296206.
