George Street, looking east; closed due to a serious fire on the previous afternoon. Saravana Bhavan restaurant was destroyed in a blaze, which took 15 fire appliances and 100 firefighters 11 hours to control, from 4.29pm on Monday December 28. Staff at Saravana Bhavan had left before the fire brigade arrived and no one was reported injured.
