Money's Mill, Money's Yard, Carre Street, Sleaford

Grade II Listed former windmill. Built by Henry Sutton in 1796 to replace a post mill built some seven years earlier. The six story tower mill had 4 sails and had an associated granary and bakehouse; it continued in operation until about 1900. The rear of the bakery ran down to the Slea Navigation. In 1986 the mill with a capacity for three sets of mill stones was restored by the Sleaford and District Civic Trust. The ogee cap being a replica of the timber original. For several years it served as the Sleaford's tourist information centre and then stood empty. John & Isola Partridge acquired the semi-derelict mill in 2007 and set up the Curio Cafe, winning awards for their renovation of the building. No formal staircase in place to higher floors, access was only possible up to the third floor, with the balcony accessed from the second floor. It was put up for sale in 2018 and it was reported in 2019 that Trumpton Properties had applied for planning to convert it to holiday accommodation.
