The Duke of York public house, Nos.70 & 72 Church Street, probably built or rebuilt on the site of an alehouse at the end of the 18th century. No.72 was a separate shop until 1920. Being part of the hospitality sector, the pub remained closed during the second pandemic lockdown, and remains so since the city of Kingston upon Hull moved into tier 3 on 2 December 2020.
