The sign is surmounted by an acorn and two oak leaves, the sign itself features a hen and cock pheasant. Unfortunately the reverse is even rustier and bears a scene of early Saxon life in the village. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6689820 https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6689817
