This range dates from 1878 and Alan Murray-Rust suggests it was used for workshops and warehouses. However, in the background with some associated foliage is a substantial chimney base. This suggests the range had its own steam power and may not have had an entirely passive role. The mills are former cotton mills but now in multiple occupancy.
