July 31st 1971 saw a major step in the abandonment of trolleybus operation in Bradford with the conversion of the Wibsey (46), Buttershaw (45) and Clayton/Pasture Lane (37/38). Trolleybus 844 was one of 7 Sunbeam F4 vehicles built in 1948/50 purchased on the closure of the Mexborough & Swinton trolleybus system. Originally single deck, they received new East Lancs double-deck bodies before entering service in 1962/3. Despite the destination, it is en route to the city centre from Buttershaw, about to turn out of Reevy Road onto Wibsey Park Avenue. This is one of a series of views featuring buses in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=2114547&displayclass=slide
