The War memorial stands near the entrance to the Public Park. It is dedicated to those killed in the first and second World Wars. For King and Country This memorial is raised by the Burgh and Parish of Duns In memory of those who heard their country's summons in her hour of need and after the old Border fashion counted not the cost of defending their liberty in the Great World War 1914-1918 Let their names be forever held in proud remembrance and their example be a guiding star for the generations to come. Let also be held in proud remembrance the names of those who gave their lives in their country's cause in the second World War 1939-1945
