A late Georgian suburb built to the north of the city walls. It was designed to rent out for artisans and workers. Part of the suburb was to the west of St Paul's Road the rest to the east. Unfortunately, most of the latter was demolished in the 1960s. Cavendish Street is the middle of three eastern streets which are still largely intact, though it does continue along the top of the street too which is where this view was taken. The building to the left of the blue house was once a Victorian shop and retains the window from it.
