A stone-built barn in apparently good condition is unusual in these days of tractors and a tendency to store hay and silage centally on the farm, but this one looks very well maintained with one of the least sagging roofs I recall seeing in such a building. It is just inside a field close to the farm at Water Houses, seen from the public footpath which heads towards Great Asby. The path seems little used and is very muddy, trodden into a bit of a morass by the hooves of cattle, though the field was empty as we passed today.
