Opened in 1987 by the Docklands Light Railway on the line from Tower Gateway to Poplar. View west towards Limehouse and central London. The railway had been opened by the London & Blackwall Railway in 1840, with passenger services ceasing in the 1940s. When the line was converted to the Docklands Light Railway in 1987, Westferry station was built half way between the former stations at Limehouse and West India Dock - each about 200m from here.
